Greentech Rising was founded by two Wilkinsburg residents, father and son, David and Timothy Cattell, who are committed to help the community grow and thrive. While Greentech is a new organization, we have roots in the community and partnerships with many local public and nonprofit service providers.

We want to improve communities through education and practical application of the science of urban ecology and associated technologies. Focusing on urban farming, the idea is to:

*support production and distribution of fresh, local produce

*provide related educational and informational resources online, in person, and otherwise

*utilize blighted or underutilized properties for food production, green space, community activities, and ecological health (such as pollinator support)

*generally to promote a thriving community and world by meeting the needs of human and natural resources upon which we depend, which is more and more in an urban context
